The Santiago Escobar Interview

In March, I sat down with Santiago Escobar to interview him about how he got into Ultimate, volunteering, and founding the Minnesota Windchill.

Listen to the Santiago Escobar Interview

I played under Santiago’s leadership for the Minnesota Wind Chill back when it began in 2013. It was a lot of fun, but I hadn’t spoken with Santiago since I stopped playing in 2015. Speaking with him again, and getting to know more about his experience with Ultimate was a wonderful conversation.

Santiago was much more involved with Ultimate in the Minnesota area than I realized in 2013. He has had quite a robust resume of volunteer and tournament director roles, both locally and globally.

In the interview, Santiago also discusses how he became the founder and original owner of the Minnesota Wind Chill, some of the challenges he faced in launching a new semi-pro Ultimate team, and what he wished he could have accomplished, but didn’t have time to do.

It was great chatting with Santiago again. I hope you enjoy the interview!
